Episode 27 – Let's talk about the social contract

Greetings friends! We're taking a little intermission between guest features this week to spend some time chatting about the social contract, and showing consideration in Commander. Inspired by our previous guests the Scrap Trawlers recently, some discussions started around how do we all show kindness in commander, which led to our run through on this episode touching on our perspectives on navigating the social contract in commander, including a little about Rule Zero (we could easily do many more episodes on just that topic), and having healthy discussions to establish expectations in commander games. We run through some ways to make that discussion easier whilst establishing power levels, plus dissecting the difference between power in cards and intent of the player. We manage to cover some lofty topics, but look to continue discovering a range of perspectives on these matters as we continue our guest profiles ahead. Enjoy!

Greetings Cereal Cephalids! We've got a nice dainty episode between community guests this week, where Chesh and Sam run through some of their thoughts, experiences and considerations for deckbuilding with webcam/SpellTable play in mind. We run through some card types that may best not to include, as well as some that may work better than expected - and as a general rule, communication is key, and a healthy integral part of commander play. Greetings commander jank lords! This week we're opening up a discussion about a theme of positive table interaction in commander. A couple epsiodes back JR from SpellTable brought up the idea of playing cards that result in some table chatter, which got us thinking about what it is that really helps make a commander game enjoyable and positive for eveyrone, and the heart of it is interaction. In the spirit of promoting the best sides of the game we love, we take a look at some specific cards that embody the spirit of positive table interaction, and provoking a conversation, whilst remaining effective to your game plan - that is to say not having to fall into the extremes of chaos, or group hug. We've opened this up as an open ended theme to continue to explore and discuss, and hope you consider some of the ways you get your table involved in your next commander game (whilst still aiming to win!).
